Hair Regimen

Hey Guys. I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've just been busy with school and been overwhelemed with somethings. Also I noticed that I NEED A NEW CAMERA, cause this phone thing aint doing it lol, so I may be a little slow at first in uploading pics specifically on outfits.

Sooooo moving right along I wanted to discuss my hair regimen. I've noticed that a lot of ladies now are transitioning and starting a hair journey and I'm so proud of ya'll *bbm dancing smiley*. A hair journey can be both a fun experience and also a learning experience but if you don't have the right knowledge on how to take care of your hair it can be a disaster. In order to take care of your hair you need a hair regiman. A hair regimen is a daily, weekly, and monthly routine that you do to your hair in order to retain your hair's length and health. My hair regimen goes something like this:

Seal and moisturize hair daily
Co-wash hair 1x a week
Shampoo hair 1x a week
Deep condition hair 1x per week
Scalp treatment every other day
Green house effect everyother day I don't scalp treat my hair
Protein treatment 1x per month
Dust/trim ends every 1 to 2 months (my ends are so hard thats why I do that so often)
Perm every 16 weeks

Products I use in my hair
Moisturizer: Shea Butter
Sealant and scalp treatment: Jamaican Black Castor Oil mixed with Hollywood castor oil
Conditioner: Herbal Essence Hydralicious Conditioner and/or All Ways Natural Conditioner
Leave-in conditioner: Creame of Nature rosemary and lemongrass leave-in
Shampoo: All Ways Natural Moisturizing Shampoo
Deep Conditioner: Avacado, honey and coconut oil mix
Protein treatment: Egg and mayo mix
Perm: still havent looked into one yet but it will be a Lye relaxer

How I protect my Hair
I sleep with a silk wrap on to keep in the moisture
I TRY my best to finger comb my hair and use a wide tooth comb only on wash days
I wear usually buns, ponytails or twistouts
I braid, twist or bantu knot my hair every night
I give myself scalp messages if I EVER try and play around with my ends lol
I take a multivitamin daily
I TRY and excercise at least once a week
Drink lots of water and green tea
I only air dry my hair with the scarf method
I flat iron if I need a length check which is once a month

And VOILA! There you have it! My Hair Journey Regiman<3

My Hair Journey

So I decided that I wanted to go on a hair journey after hearing and seeing the benefits of going on this journey. A hair journey is basically taking care of your natural hair and give your hair a bit of TLC with mostly natural products. To tell you the truth I LOVE this journey that I'm on. I've learned to embrace the kinks in my hair, appreciate my length and fullness of my hair. I've also learned that there are so many styles to do with your natural hair and that one's hair is a reflection of how they take care of their body ie. excercising, eating properly and so on. I started this journey on Aug 30th, 2011 and am hoping and praying that in a years time my hair grows to bra strap (it is currently sitting a little past shoulder length). I've posted some pics on my current hair lengths and some cute natural hair styles that I have been able to do. Enjoy. Patience <3
Yellow line is the hairlength I would like to reach by next year August.
